Amy Coney Barrett is going to be confirmed as a Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. That is going to happen.
Amy Coney Barrett will likely take the bench before Election Day, or at least before November 10 when oral arguments are currently scheduled on the Affordable Care Act's continued existence. Between the two of these things, it is certain at least to me that one of them will come to pass.
Neither of these future events disturbs me. Something does disturb me, however. Troubles me may be a better way to put it.
How does a person, any person, who has integrity accept this position at this time under these circumstances in this way? That is a good question and I wonder if the answer may be in the question itself.
