LONG COVID NOT PREDICTABLE BY HOW BAD YOU GOT COVID.

The initial severity of COVID is not an indicator of whether the person will have Long COVID.

    This is a big takeaway, as far as I'm concerned, from a National Press Club Journalism Institute Webinar on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, Fall Health Coverage:  What Two Experts Want Journalists to Know in a Time of Vaccine Fatigue.  This excellent presentation featured Dr. Tina Tan and Dr. Leana Wen, and I believe it was Dr. Tan that made this observation.

VACCINE CAN PREVENT LONG COVID.

"Vaccine will prevent the development of Long COVID."  Dr. Tina Tan, Wed., Oct. 4, 2023, during National Press Club Journalism Institute Webinar, Fall Health Coverage:  What Two Experts Want Journalists to Know in a Time of Vaccine Fatigue.

Dr. Tan was impressive, as was her colleague on the NPCJI Webinar, Dr. Leana Wen.

But I won't hold Dr. Tan to "will prevent," I am happy to know that vaccine can prevent the development of Long COVID.

DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT EVERYTHING.

Not knowing everything is not shameful.

Lacking information is not sinful.

When we are in these situations, we have a chance to learn something we did not know before.

Vulnerability. Uncertainty.

Did anyone ever tell you that life was filled with certainties?  Don't know what they could be, or who might have said that to you.

Life is filled with uncertainty, so far as I have seen life.  Vulnerability just may be the only option.

It's how we deal with our vulnerabilities that determines who we are in the end. 

As hateful as it can feel to be vulnerable, don't be afraid of it.  It can be a good thing.

Be happy.  If you are alive, it's your only option.  If you cry all the time, no-one will come near you.  Be happy.

Before long half of Major League Baseball will begin fighting through the Playoffs and World Series until the games come to an end in November some time.

How did we get here so fast?  Seems like Opening Day was not that long ago.

Oh, well, it's been a pretty good season.  Everything will be just fine at the end, too.
